Family governance is the system of rules, practices, and processes by which the family is directed and managed.  Family governance essentially involves balancing the interests of the family's many stakeholders such as family members, family office executives, service providers, the government, and the community.  Since it also provides the framework for attaining the family's objectives, it encompasses practically every sphere of management from action plans and internal controls to performance measurement and family disclosure.

Drawing on our experience working with other Enterprising Families and their service teams, we facilitate family governance through one or more of the following: participation in family governance (design or board and committee participation); private family trust company services; and family office services.
